I have been interested in the meat vs veggie debate for a long time. The debate is interesting for its many different angles. There is a moral angle, an environmental angle, a health angle, a religious angle, and even a feminist angle. I wanted to explore these themes through this project.
The core inspiration for this dish came from the growing and very fetishistic fake meat market. By inverting the idea on its head, i.e. when we imitate salad using meat, the premise feels much more bizarre and strange.
This dish is served as a satirical statement on the issue.
